Christmas always has a way of slowing things down just enough to remind us what really matters.
This year, our Christmas card tells a story that feels big, full, and honestly… a little surreal to write.

And instead of easing quietly into that next chapter, we jumped in with both feet, celebrating with a cruise surrounded by family and friends. Laughter, sunsets, salty air, and time together without rushing from one thing to the next. It was exactly what our hearts needed, and yes… we’re already planning to make it a yearly tradition.
Looking at the photos on our card makes me pause. Not because everything is perfect but because it’s real. Seasons change. Kids grow. Life shifts.
Megan is still in Wichita, continuing her degree and carving out her own path.
Ryan has finished his paramedic degree and is working in Oskaloosa while living in Pella a chapter we’re incredibly proud of.
Kate is a junior at Iowa State, majoring in Animal Science, chasing a future that once lived only in her imagination.
As parents, you don’t realize how quickly these chapters turn until you’re standing in a quieter house, holding memories instead of backpacks.
And honestly? I’m learning to love this season.
Christmas isn’t about perfectly wrapped packages or packed schedules. It’s about reflection. Gratitude. Letting yourself feel proud of how far you’ve come — even if the path wasn’t straight or simple.
This year reminded me how important it is to build a life that supports these moments. The ones where you can step away. Be present. Celebrate fully. Rest without guilt.
That’s what this season represents for us, space to breathe, space to connect, and space to enjoy the life we’ve built together.
From our family to yours,
May your days be full of warmth, laughter, and the kind of moments you’ll look back on someday and smile. 🤍
