Easy Birthday Scrapbook Ideas Using The Party Time Collection

Are You Looking For Easy Birthday Scrapbook Layout Ideas?

This week’s Sketch Sunday project is full of inspiration for creating colorful, fun, and photo-friendly scrapbook pages using supplies you may already have in your stash.

In this scrapbook process video on The Scrapping Studio, I created a two-page birthday scrapbook layout inspired by Page 29 from the 101 Scrapbooking Ideas & Sketches book from Creative Memories. The original sketch used the Lullaby Lane collection, but I decided to give it a completely different look by using the older Creative Memories Party Time collection instead.

One of my favorite things about scrapbooking is finding creative ways to use older scrapbook collections, paper scraps, and leftover embellishments to create fresh new layouts without needing to buy all new supplies.

Birthday Scrapbook Layout Inspiration

This two-page scrapbook spread is designed to hold multiple birthday photos while still leaving room for journaling and decorative embellishments. I used bright colors, patterned papers, birthday-themed stickers, and layered photo mats to create a layout that feels festive without being overwhelming.

The layout includes:

  • Multiple 4x6 and 3x3 photo spaces

  • Journaling space for birthday memories

  • Layered paper borders

  • Birthday embellishments and stickers

  • Foam adhesive for dimension

  • Decorative border accents

  • Coordinating cardstock mats

If you struggle with knowing where to place photos or how to balance your scrapbook pages, using scrapbook sketches is one of the easiest ways to simplify the creative process.

Using Scrapbook Sketches to Make Layouts Easier

Sketches are one of the best tools for scrapbookers because they help eliminate the guesswork. Instead of staring at a blank page, you can follow a simple design structure and customize it with your own scrapbook paper, colors, themes, and embellishments.

For this Sketch Sunday episode, I followed the general design from the sketch while adjusting parts of the layout to better fit the supplies and birthday theme I wanted to use.

That’s one of the great things about scrapbook sketches — they’re meant to inspire creativity, not limit it.

Creative Memories Party Time Collection

Although the Party Time collection is an older Creative Memories collection, it still works perfectly for birthday scrapbook layouts. The bright colors, candles, polka dots, cakes, and birthday-themed embellishments make it easy to create layouts for:

  • Kids birthday parties

  • Teen birthday celebrations

  • Adult birthday memories

  • Family gatherings

  • Birthday dinner photos

  • Milestone birthdays

This project is also a great reminder that you don’t always need the newest scrapbook collection to create beautiful pages.

New Creative Memories Trimmer Review

One of the highlights of this video was getting to use the NEW Creative Memories 12-inch Trimmer. I shared several updated features throughout the process, including:

  • Easier-to-read measurement markings

  • 1/16-inch measurement increments

  • Improved cutting guides

  • Storage space for tools

  • Better workspace functionality

Having the right scrapbooking tools can make layout creation faster and less frustrating, especially when cutting multiple mats and borders for two-page scrapbook spreads.

Why Scrapbooking Your Birthday Memories Matters

Birthday scrapbook layouts are one of the best ways to preserve everyday family memories. Photos sitting on your phone often get forgotten, but adding them to an album allows you to revisit those moments for years to come.

Whether it’s blowing out candles, opening gifts, birthday cakes, party decorations, or simple family moments, birthday scrapbook pages help tell the story behind the celebration.

And honestly? The “perfect time” to scrapbook those photos rarely happens. Sometimes you just need to grab the supplies you already own and start creating.
